Wicked, Elphie and Glinda

"Wicked, Elphie and Glinda" by Andrea Nan

Wicked is probably my favorite musical, I can sing almost all the songs from memory, and I love the story. It's so amazing that the you can take the Wicked Witch of the West, who is so such a one dimensional, scary, green witch, and turn her into a lovely, misunderstood, smart, strong, and brave heroine. This story shows you the power of empathy, you can take a bad guy/girl, like the Wicked Witch of the West, Loki, or Maleficent, and turn them into someone wonderful even though they are evil, with just a little sprinkle of empathy. Why do they act the way they do? What brought them to this point? If you can show how the villain became the villain, in a way that your audience can empathize with them, then you have a really great bad guy.

  1. I've never seen Wicked, but I want to seems like an intriguing story. I love that quote by the way, got to love a villain with a tragic back story
