Take your character out for ice cream. What flavor would they order? How large? In a cup or on a cone? Would they like sprinkles or a cherry on top?
Though it may not seem like a very important thing to ask your character, it's a good idea to know what their likes and dislikes are and what they are likely to do or order. If you know your character inside and out it will help you a lot with your writing.

I'm going to use my character Cannon Reese, and he would order Rocky Road. He would get it in a gigantic waffle cone, and he wouldn't want any toppings on top. He's pretty to the point with things like that.
ReplyDeleteThey don't have ice cream in The Paths of Thyme, this has to do with some problems with freezers and electrical outlets in the medieval world...
DeleteIf there was ice cream then my character Nadasa would go for a strawberry cone, simple and sweet, with whipped cream on top. Jastin would probably order a double fudge sundae, but he usually just prefers to eat cake. It's his favorite food, and pretty much his favorite thing ever.
I had to switch stories so I didn't use my midevil one xp
